We don’t stop for lunch ourselves, we don’t get lunch breaks. Normally we have to eat on the hoof. Surely, me eating a banana in a traffic jam is not that important. However, anyone distracted behind the wheel or failing to operate their vehicle correctly because they are eating could be committing an offence of driving without due care and attention, or not being in proper control of a vehicle. The Highway Code states drivers should avoid distractions such as eating, drinking, loud music, trying to read maps, smoking, and arguing with passengers or other road users. Dorset Polices said it was unable to comment on specific cases still within the judicial process. Earlier this month, a woman was spotted by a cyclist tucking into a bowl of cereal while behind the wheel of a red Land Rover Discovery as it made its way through heavy traffic in the Hampton Court area of west London ‘Our traffic officers and No Excuse team use enforcement and education to tackle the ‘fatal five’ – drink and drug driving, excessive and inappropriate speed, not wearing a seatbelt, careless driving and driver distraction. She was spotted by experienced cyclist David Williams who drew up alongside her while wearing a headcam and remonstrated with her to put the dish down. The cyclist handed the footage over to Surrey Police, and a year-old woman was later handed a Driver Referral Notice for the offence of driving whilst not in proper control of motor vehicle.

The chase, which is thought to have reached speeds in excess of 90mph, began in Ferndown just before 10am on Sunday when officers in an unmarked police car tried to stop a grey Volkswagen Passat. The car tore off at speed, hitting a car waiting at traffic lights near the fire station. Officers caught it up near Dudsbury Golf course and the pursuit continued through Parley, Kinson, and Longham, taking a circular route back to Hurn, before heading south down the A Spur Road, as the driver tried to shake off police.

Click here to show the fast loading version General Description Christchurch was once an important port but is now badly silted up, The entry is complicated by a shifting bar and very strong tidal flows, as vast quantities of water from within the shallow harbour squeeze back out to sea through a very narrow area known as The Run. The town itself is very beautiful, and the harbour is unspoilt and an important nature reserve with salt marshes, reefs and sand dunes.
Some boat facilities can be found within, and the town offers useful shops, pubs and banks, as well as the Sailing Club. Other clubs are around the harbour. Once through the rather intimidating entrance, the whole character of the place changes. This is a place where nature shows her more gentle side, and the owner of a shoal draft craft who makes the effort will be well rewarded. To be able to lay to your anchor in the midst of this beautiful scenery and chill out, whilst only been a few miles away from the money-grabbing hustle and bustle of the Solent is truly magical.
The only thing that might disturb your peace is the searchlight from the Christchurch Harbour Watch RIB, who patrol the waters at night for security reasons Approach Christchurch Harbour is really only suitable for shoal draft craft, say 1.

The dinner is usually around one large table occasionally more than one table and everyone has a named place to start. The nice thing about our dinner parties is that there are multiple conversational opportunities at each point during the evening and we usually ask the gentlemen to move on between courses, so that by the end of the evening, everyone has had the chance to meet every other guest.
